Since 1930, the Roquefort has benefitted from the “Label Brebis rouge” (Red Ewe Label) which determines the sheep feed. Forage and cereals in the winter, pasture the remaining time. It should also be noted that the milk only comes from ewes of the Lacaune breed.
This label is a collective brand created in 1930 by the sheep milk producers and the Roquefort manufacturers Confederation. It guarantees the origin and the quality of the Roquefort all around the world.
